As an Independent Commissioning Certifier, we act on behalf of the Client to provide objective verification that all mechanical and electrical systems have been fully tested, commissioned, and proven to operate in accordance with the design intent, project specifications, and relevant industry Codes of Practice.
Our role is independent from the project delivery team, ensuring impartial oversight and complete confidence in the commissioning process.
Our Responsibilities Include:
- Witnessing and accepting all mechanical and electrical testing and commissioning activities
- Certifying compliance with design briefs, performance criteria, and technical specifications
- Reviewing designs for commissionability, ensuring systems can be safely and effectively tested
- Monitoring progress of commissioning activities throughout the project lifecycle
- Reviewing, validating, and signing off commissioning documentation and record drawings
- Providing independent assurance that all building systems operate as intended
How This Differs from a Commissioning Manager Role
Unlike a Commissioning Manager who coordinates and drives the commissioning process daytoday our Independent Commissioning Certifier role focuses on verification rather than management. We do not manage the commissioning delivery; instead, we independently witness, review, and certify the works undertaken by the project team, offering the Client an additional layer of quality assurance.
