Take Action for Mental Health
Awareness is important – but action is what creates change.
Mental Health Awareness Week is a reminder that small everyday actions can make a real difference, especially in high-pressure industries like construction.
π The reality:
- 1 in 4 people experience a mental health problem each year
- 1 in 5 experience anxiety or depression each week
Within construction:
- 97% have experienced stress
- 87% anxiety
- 70% depression
- 26% suicidal thoughts
- Only 29% feel comfortable speaking to their employer about mental health
Long hours, deadlines and physical demands can take their toll. Many people struggle in silence, feeling they simply need to βget on with itβ.
Sometimes, though, a simple conversation or check-in can make all the difference.
This week is about taking action:
β
Check in with someone
β
Start a conversation
β
Reach out for support
β
Make mental wellbeing part of everyday working life
Because mental health matters every day – not just for one week.
π Take action for yourself
π Take action for others
π Take action together
