Take Action for Mental Health

Awareness is important – but action is what creates change.

Mental Health Awareness Week is a reminder that small everyday actions can make a real difference, especially in high-pressure industries like construction.

πŸ“Š The reality:

  • 1 in 4 people experience a mental health problem each year
  • 1 in 5 experience anxiety or depression each week

Within construction:

  • 97% have experienced stress
  • 87% anxiety
  • 70% depression
  • 26% suicidal thoughts
  • Only 29% feel comfortable speaking to their employer about mental health

Long hours, deadlines and physical demands can take their toll. Many people struggle in silence, feeling they simply need to β€œget on with it”.

Sometimes, though, a simple conversation or check-in can make all the difference.

This week is about taking action:

βœ… Check in with someone
βœ… Start a conversation
βœ… Reach out for support
βœ… Make mental wellbeing part of everyday working life

Because mental health matters every day – not just for one week.

πŸ’š Take action for yourself
πŸ’š Take action for others
πŸ’š Take action together
