End Systems are now recruiting a Trainee Mechanical Technical Author to work as part of a busy team of mechanical and electrical technical authors, producing mechanical operating and maintenance manuals and associated documentation for a variety of clients.
The role requires a hardworking, conscientious operative who is comfortable communicating with clients and has a basic understanding of mechanical information such as equipment quotations, schematics and layout drawings, specifications and schedules.
Ideally the successful candidate would be BTEC HNC/HND qualified in Mechanical Engineering, but this is not essential.
Technical authorship encompasses the interpretation of building services drawings, specifications, equipment schedules and other information, from which the author will produce detailed text to describe how the building services of a particular building are operated and maintained by the occupant.
Experience of technical authorship isn’t essential for this role as we would provide the relevant internal training utilising our structured and tested training program, however a proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office is preferred.
A recent graduate who is a methodical and well organised individual with excellent time keeping would be ideally suited to the role, however, time served site mechanical engineers looking for a change of direction in their career would also be suitable. The candidate should be comfortable working within a fast paced environment that is highly focused on meeting client deadlines and producing work of an excellent standard.
